Modern e-commerce platform for some of the world's largest restaurant chains. ## The Problem ![yum-logo](https://www.bitovi.com/hubfs/yum-logo.svg) [Yum](https://www.yum.com/wps/portal/yumbrands/Yumbrands) is a brand builder for some of the largest fast food chains: [KFC](http://www.kfc.com/), [Pizza Hut](http://www.pizzahut.com/), [Taco Bell](http://www.tacobell.com/), and [The Habit Burger Grill](https://www.habitburger.com/).  With ample volume, Yum recognized the value in replacing their existing third party ordering service with an **in-house e-commerce system**.  Bitovi was put to the test with looming challenges like product roadmapping, architecture, and staffing for such a large platform. Bitovi first engaged with Yum (previously Quick Order) back in 2018 when we built some React applications for them. With a glowing past engagement, Yum reached out to Bitovi to consult on many roles such as: - Product ownership - Microservice architecture and engineers - DevOps - Front end engineers Bitovi has gained trust through our execution and exists as one of the only contractors left on the project at Yum. ## The Goods ![inc 2](https://www.bitovi.com/hs-fs/hubfs/inc%202.png?width=940&name=inc%202.png) Bitovi consulted on many roles from leadership to development.  Bitovi assisted in creating the team required to execute, and grew the technical team from 5 up past 60 members. Processes for handling this development volume was necessary - [CI&CD](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CI/CD), MR builds, system wide integration tests, and [sidecar patterning](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/architecture/patterns/sidecar) all played a role in a successful execution.
