Join us on Thursday, October 17th from 9 am – 10:30 am Pacific Time for our next online meetup! We’ll have a handful of short talks on a variety of interesting topics, including…

Signaling in WebRTC

In the second installment of our overview of WebRTC, Austin Kurpuis will take a closer look at the signaling process. He’ll explore the most common approach to signaling as well as some less conventional approaches to help you understand how signaling works and what role it plays in establishing a WebRTC connection with other peers.

Lazy Loading Components and Data with React’s Suspense

React’s new Suspense component provides an easy way to lazy-load components (with React.lazy) and fallback loading notifications. These same techniques can even be applied to simplify data-fetching. In his talk, Christopher Baker will explain how to leverage these new APIs to reduce your application’s load time and improve your application’s visual performance.

Getting Started with Codemods & JScodeshift

Codemods are awesome because they simplify repetitive programming tasks. CanJS 6’s migration tool includes codemods that automate the upgrade process. Codemods are built on Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs). In his talk, Matt Chaffe will explain the basics of ASTs and what tools are available to make dealing with them easier so you can build your own codemods!

Dockerize Your DoneJS Apps

Docker containers are ubiquitous in the world of the Cloud, and having your applications and microservices containerized is a great first step toward effortless scalability. In his talk, Mick McGrath will walk through how to “Dockerize” the DoneJS Place My Order app.

Register today!

After the talks, we’ll have a group chat to discuss the presentations, talk with the presenters, and put the meet in meetup.

This meetup is free to attend, but you have to register to save your spot!
